Addictive were a Sydney thrash metal band, who formed in 1988. This
band literally blew everyone away with their awe inspiring live performances. Addictive is
held in the highest esteem amongst metalheads to this very day.

The original lineup of the band was Greg Smith (vocals and bass), Joe Buttigieg
(guitar), Mick Sultana (guitar) and Matt Coffey (drums). The guys released the "Ward
74" demo in 1988 which established them as a force to be reckoned with.

The first album, "Pity
Of Man" was released November 1989. Steve Moore (previously of Enticer) replaced Coffey on drums. The second album, "Kick
'Em Hard", was recorded in 1991. The master tapes for these sessions went missing
for over 18 months, and it was finally released in February 1993, and while they continued
to play live infrequently, Addictive finally broke up in 1996.

"Kick 'Em Hard" featured Ozzy Osbourne/Rainbow/Gary Moore bass player Bob Daisley as producer. Bob honoured the boys by allowing them to
rearrange his song Crazy Train and
officially record it for the first time since the original was done in 1981 by co-writers
Ozzy Osbourne & Randy Rhoads.
This rendition is a World First,
but it was never released by ADDICTIVE or Survival....
Until now...
Michael Keating presents 'CRAZY TRAIN'
"Man, was I jealous of
Addictive when they were able to secure the services of one of my musical heroes, Bob
Daisley, to produce their
second album, "Kick 'Em Hard".
Bob's CV is certainly impressive - one-time member of Ritchie
Blackmore's Rainbow, original member of Ozzy's first solo band with Randy Rhoads, and
appearing on albums with such rock greats as Black Sabbath, Gary Moore, Uriah Heep and
Yngwie Malmsteen to name just a few.
The song Crazy Train originally appeared on Ozzy Osbourne debut solo album "Blizzard of
Ozz" and was written by Bob with Ozzy and Randy Rhoads. You may also recognise it from the swing
version used as the theme to the reality TV hit "The Osbournes".
Crazy Train has been voted the 9th Greatest Heavy Metal song
of all time by VH1 and has been downloaded over 2,000,000 times as a ring-tone. The
version here was recorded during the "Kick 'Em Hard" sessions and features Bob on bass taking over from Addictive's Greg Smith.
The song however was not included on the completed album and so is available here
commercially for the first time."
Mick recently contacted Bob to secure his blessing with this land
mark release.
We will let him have the final say :
"For me, it was a pleasure working with
Addictive as producer of their album at the end of 1991. Not only were they a nice bunch
of lads, they were professional, talented and decent players and writers. I just wish
their recordings had done better at the time in the market place, they certainly deserved
it. I played a guest spot on their version of 'Crazy
Train' and would
recommend their album 'Kick 'Em Hard', one listen and you're 'hooked'.
All
the best boys"

May 2010 : Mick recently collaborated with Pat
Piercy to bring us :
"Harmonies Of Smashing
Limbs"
These two duel away like their lives depend on it ! Whilst not an official
track - but definately has an uppercut of Addictive flavour !
