Ingrid
Ingrid is a sixteen-year-old musician from
western Sydney, who absolutely loves to be performing on stage. Her strong passion and
drive for music has already made an impact in the online music world. Ingrid has achieved
'Gold' status (four most listened to track) on Soundcheck.com.au. Currently, Ingrid is
song-writing and recording her album. Watch out for Ingrid in the future.
Goodbye by Ingrid is a fantastic first single
that combines female vocals with a killer drum beat and electric guitars. You wouldn't
think this single is orchestrated by one girl, but it is, which makes it all the more
impressive.
Goodbye would easily fit into any mainstream
radio station, with its indie band beat and incredible female lead. Definitely a song I
would want on my iPod.
Interview
with Ingrid Oram
How did it feel to hear your songs played
on a CD?
Ingrid Oram: It felt great, because when I listened
to it, I felt like I had achieved something, and that all my hard work had paid off .
Did you have any pre-conceived ideas about the music industry?
Ingrid Oram: To be honest, everything I thought of,
is actually what I thought of it to be, enjoyable, fun and hard working.
Do you write your own songs? What's your inspiration?
Ingrid Oram: A lot of things inspire me everyday; I
am influenced with positivity and setting new goals in life that I KNOW I can achieve. And
yes, I do write my own songs.
What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own?
Ingrid Oram: I listen to all styles of music, and
listen to different artists, like Celine Dion, Paramore, Jimmy Eat World, Panic!, Pink,
Edwin McCain, and a lot of local bands like, Town Hall Steps, City Lights Fade. Being a
musician, you have to listen to all sorts of styles, and languages to get ideas and a
better understanding of music.
What's next? Tour/Album/Single?
Ingrid Oram: Well at the moment I have gigs coming up
and I should be in the studio to record more songs with Antonio a great person and a
really talented drummer and producer, I'm also working with solo artists and local bands,
but I am planning on writing an EP.
Was there a moment you contemplated throwing in the towel?
Ingrid Oram: Many times
Do you prefer performing live or recording?
Ingrid Oram: They're both great fun!
What/who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?
Ingrid Oram: As I said before, a lot of things have
inspired me, but one of the tops would be my father, because he is a musician himself and
is well known overseas and he always supports and helps me. So Papa is one of my main
inspirations.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success?
Ingrid Oram: I'd have to say being different, because
a lot of people these days want something cool and a lot of artists can have the same
music, so to get people liking you, you have to be unique in your own ways.
What's a typical day like?
Ingrid Oram: Going to school and my parents asking me
to clean my room, just like any other teenager.
What has been your favorite part of becoming a music artist?
Ingrid Oram: It's definitely the support from my
family and friends, and the great people that I've met that are just amazing to work with
and that also helped me out.
If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?
Ingrid Oram: Any musician with talent and a strong
personality whether they're signed or unsigned.
Are you single? What do you look for in a partner?
Ingrid Oram: In a partner I'd like someone to be
themselves, down to earth, smart, positive. I guess someone that's just loving caring and
simple.
Do you have a website fans can visit?
Ingrid Oram: www.myspace.com/ingridaus
Can you tell us five things required for a happy healthy & enjoyable life?
Ingrid Oram: 1st of all you need to be STRONG,
because if you are not strong, you won't get anything in this life. Someone once told me
that if you are weak, you won't reach your dreams but the one with strength will pick
themselves up, and do anything. (Don't let anyone put you down, because no one out there
is better then you!)
2nd be positive, cause if you are, things do work out, no matter how bad your situation is
(trust me).
3rd have a good social life, because you meet awesome people everyday that can help you,
support you and be close to you.
4th do what you love doing, it would keep you busy, happy and can make you achieve
something
5th be fit and eat well, would take all the stress and make life fresh.
What message would you like to say to your fans?
Ingrid Oram: Thank you so much for listening to my
songs, reading this and supporting me, it means the world!
