Lazarus
sprung from The Shire into the golden era of Sydney's 80's metal scene and the boys gigged
regularly at venues such as The Sutherland Royal Hotel, and the Seven Hills Inn.
Previously unreleased
(except for a few cassette tapes to mates) these demo tracks have been graciously and
exclusively unleashed from the personal collection of Tony Matesa, who was only 14 at the
time of recording. These recordings showcase
Tony's astonishing prowess on the guitar as a teenager. Understandably, the quality of
these recordings is typical of the late 80's
Interesting fact
that Tony lived within 100 metres of both Dave
De Francesco (Enticer), and Troy Scerri. All 3 of these guys would eventually
have stints in Mortal Sin - making Miranda an undeniable hot spot for metal guitarists in
this era.
Lazarus disbanded
in 1988 due to Patrick electing to pursue a career in computing, and Mark
devoting his time to parenthood.
